As you can imagine, Christmas 2007 was a very special one for Misty and I. We were blessed with the joy of celebrating Bryton’s first Christmas! And what a wonderful (all though sometimes a bit hectic
) time it was for all of us. Even though it’s a couple months later, I thought I’d share a few pictures. Enjoy!
On December 13th Bryton has been home for one month! He has gone through a lot these last 30 days, from a 12 hour time zone change to double ear infections. Everything seemed to affect his sleeping one way or another. It’s been quite a challenge to get him on a good sleeping schedule. But 30 days later, we are making progress! Bryton is sleeping on his own now (and for most of the night
) and he is even calling Misty “ma-ma” and working on calling me “da-da”. It’s such an amazing experience we’ve had so far and we are so blessed to have him as our son!
Bryton’s been with us now for two weeks and we are tired, but blessed to have him as our son. During the day he is a bundle of giggles and smiles as he plays around the house. He loves his mommy and lights up when he sees her walk in the room. He is even saying “mama” now and associating it with who Misty is. He smiles and is excited to see me when I come home from work. We love to play together with his toys. When nap time or bed time comes it is a different story… It is quite a challenge to get him to sleep. When he does fall asleep he is only asleep for 40-60 minutes before he pops wide awake. This means one of us has to go rock him back to sleep…this goes on all night long. So needless to say we are tired and trying to get him on a good sleeping schedule so we can rest too. Hopefully soon we’ll all be sleeping well

When we picked Bryton up at the airport, one of the first things we noticed was his hair… and how much he had
We loved it, but thought it was time to get it trimmed. So the other day we took Bryton to get his first haircut from our friend and awesome hair stylist, Jamie Remple. Bryton did great sitting on mommy’s lap while Jamie cut his hair! Here are some of the pictures from that exciting event:
Wow, what an amazing, wonderful, challenging couple of days! We brought Bryton home with us on the 13th of November and we are so blessed to have him as our son! The last couple of days have been a blur…hard to put to words what we are experiencing. We are tired as his sleeping did not come easy (go figure, 22 hour flight, 12 hour different time zone, teething, in the company of total strangers…I’d not be sleeping well either) but we are hanging in there, taking turns with him at night. Other than the sleeping, he is a bundle of joy and smiles! Here are some pictures at the airport when we picked him up, the evening we brought him home and the day after.
Today, Misty and I will pick our son up at the airport and bring him to his new home with us. It is so weird thinking that we will jump in the car, drive to the airport and come home with a little boy. I don’t think the reality of having a child has really set in with me yet. Right now, I’m just excited that tonight I’ll be able to hold him and tell him I love him. We are both nervous and excited at the same time. What an awesome blessing to have him as our son!
We got the call this morning (10:29AM CST) letting us know that next week, November 13th 2007, Bryton will come home to his family here in KC, MO!! Misty and I are overwhelmed with joy and excitement; I can’t put words to what we are feeling now! We started back in Nov. 2005 and here in Nov. 2007 we’ll finally be able to welcome our son home! Only 8 more days to wait!!
We’ve been in a mode of “any day now” for a week or so, waiting for the phone call to tell us when to pick up Bryton. But no call yet. We are very excited and can’t wait for our son to come home to us! But for now, back to waiting…
